Eleanor Jaecks

December 9, 1922 — July 17, 2012

Eleanor Jaecks, 89 of Wausau passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Ministry St. Clare's Hospital.
She was born December 9, 1922 in Plover to the late John and Mildred (Fletcher) Dakins. On October 2, 1944, Eleanor married George Jaecks at the parsonage of Buena Vista Church in Plover. Eleanor took great pride in caring for George and their two sons, Gary and Dennis. In her earlier years, Eleanor worked as a nursing assistant at St. Mary's Hospital, Wausau and later in the cafeteria at Wausau East High School She enjoyed gardening, sewing and was a member of the WWER Women's Club.
Survivors include her sons, Gary (Shirley) of Lemon Grove, CA, Dennis (Sharon) of Weston, two grandchildren, Connie (Todd) Frazier of Lemon Grove, CA, Ronald Jaecks of Marysville, CA, three great grandchildren, Preston, Kyra and Chanelle and one sister, Shirley (William) Clussman of Wautoma. Eleanor was preceded in death by George on June 1, 1999, four brothers, George, Wilbur, Carroll and Kenneth Dakins and three sisters, Dorothy Wolslair, April Pierce, and Lois Worden.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Paulette Creswell will officiate. Burial has taken place in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
