Earl William Hartig, 86 of Wausau, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 under the care of Hospice services at his daughters home in Weyauwega WI.
Earl was born January 15, 1923 in the town of Hamburg to the late Max and Martha ( Johlke ) Hartig. He married Hildegarde Lang on October 17, 1959 in Wausau. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2003. Earl enjoyed playing in card tournaments and cards with many of his friends. He also loved playing sports in his younger years and watching them on television.
Survivors include a daughter Rose (Amos ) Wilde, Weyauwega Wi, two Step sons Guy Langsdorf, Wausau, and Allen (Sheri ) Langsdorf, Merrill and one step daughter Mary (Jerry) Cronce, Wausau,
eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009, at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be Sunday from 4p.m. until 7p.m at the funeral home and Monday from 10:00 a.m until the time of service at the funeral home.
