Debra Voigt

September 1, 1957 — January 28, 2008

On January 28, 2008, a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt, Debra Kathleen Voigt (Carazalla) joined her father and the angels in Heaven. Her time on Earth was too short and we look forward to when we will see her again.

Debbie was born on September 1, 1957, was a Wausau West Graduate and married Wayne Voigt Sr. on June 14, 1975. Debbie gave as much time and care to her family as she did to her work. She was employed with Wausau Benefits in the claim and life units, was currently employed as a sales associate at C.J. Banks and at WPS Insurance. Always a dedicated and hard working individual, Debbie was instrumental in developing an innovative claim processing system. She enjoyed working with her colleagues and found time to celebrate holidays by decorating her workspace the workspaces of co-workers.

Debbie was a lover of animals. She was mother to a number of horses, cats, birds, and dogs. She was especially fond of a pair of tiny Yorkies named Torrie and Teaka. Debbie was generous, kind hearted, supportive, a secret keeper, enjoyed a good joke, liked fishing, loved to shop, and took a lot of care and joy making her flower gardens beautiful around her home.

Survivors include her husband Wayne of Wausau, one son Wayne "Chuck" Voigt Jr. of Wausau, her mother Vernelle Carazalla of Wausau, one brother William (Mary) Carazalla Jr. of Wausau, three sisters Maggie (Jim) Dvorak of Wausau, Susan (Daniel) Seubert of Marathon, Sherrie (Tom Harenda) Carazalla of Wausau, mother-in-law Dorothy Voigt of Merrill, one sister-in-law Susan (Lyle) Thurs of Athens, and four brothers-in-law; Sheldon (Karen) Voigt Jr. of Merrill, Robert (Karen) Voigt of Wausau, Richard (Karen) Voigt of Wausau, and Michael Voigt of Merrill.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday February 1, 2008 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
