Conrad Froehlich

Conrad I. Froehlich, 85, of Wausau died Thursday, January 17th 2008, at St.Clare's hospital, Weston.
Conrad was born March 5, 1922, the son of the late William and Hattie (Moeser) Froehlich. He married Katherine Marquardt on June 12, 1954. Katherine still survives. Conrad and Katherine were married for 53 years, he was very proud of that fact.
Conrad worked for the CCC's prior to joining the U.S. Army in 1942. Conrad participated in the battle of Luzon in the Philippine's, and received the Bronze star medal in WWII. Following the war, Conrad worked at Crestline / SNE, Marathon Millwork, and was a custodian at the Wausau West High School before retiring. Conrad's passions included; fishing at Carrol Lake with his sons, gardening, reading, listening the Milwaukee Brewers on the radio, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Conrad loved spending time with his family and friends. Two very special friends were Arnold and Mary Pagel of Wausau.
Survivors include three sons, David (Diane) Froehlich, Wausau, Randy Froehlich, Wausau, and Alan (Dawn) Froehlich of Weston; four grandchildren, Daniel Froehlich of Wausau, Beth (Brian) Zieske of Wausau, Wendy Froehlich of Wausau, and Ashley (Barry) Van den Brink of Barron; four great-grandchildren, Evan, Riley, and Noah Zieske of Wausau, Marie Van den Brink of Barron; and surviving siblings, Dora (Norman) Nelson of Milwaukee, Marion Niemela of Wakefield, Michigan, Elspeth Prain (Harry) of Wausau, Violet Jakabowski (Tom) of Wausau. Conrad is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Ella Gehrke (Wally), Annie (Ralph) Yanke of Wausau, one brother, William (Elaine) Froehlich.
