Betty Schulz

Betty Schulz, 85, of Wausau passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison.


She was born April 12, 1924 in Rib Falls to the late Charlie and Ella (Marth) Giese. On February 19, 1944, Betty married Ervin Schulz at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rib Falls. Betty was a devoted mother to her seven children. She always had a special way of making each one feel special. Her favorite past times included visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren, gardening, cooking, camping, and traveling with Ervin. Betty was a past member of the Busy Gal’s Homemakers Club. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had belonged to the Welfare Workers.


Survivors include her seven children, Bonnie (Norbert) Kramer of Charlotte, NC, James (Cynthia) Schulz of Monroe, NC, Beverly Daley of Waukesha, Kenneth (Doris) Schulz of Lakewood, CO, Wayne Schulz and Karla of Wausau, Nancy Schulz of Wausau, Gerald (Kimberly) Schulz of Commerce City, CO, eight grandchildren, Norbie (Amy) Kramer, Michael Kramer, Wendy Schulz, Steve Schulz, Tim (Becky) Daley, Wayne, Garrett, and Bryce Schulz, 4 great grandchildren, Adam, Ethan, and Ashley Kramer, Claire Daley, two sisters, Dorothy Wendt of Wausau, Hazel Eisenhut of New Berlin, and two brothers, Earl (Shirley) Giese of Thornton, CO, and Gordon (Eldora) Giese of Edgar. Betty was preceded in death by Ervin on November 9, 2001, one grand daughter Ginger Schulz, one brother, Carlie Giese, and two sisters, Myrtle Ollhoff and Mildred Giese.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
