Arpad A. Biro, 88, town of Rib Mountain passed away Friday, January 11, 2008 at his home.

He was born December 15, 1919 in Chicago to the late Anton and Barbara Biro. Arpad was veteran of WWII serving in the Marines. He married Dorothy Hock on October 11, 1947 at Blessed Agnes Catholic Church, Chicago. Arpad and Dorothy raised their family in Berwyn, Ill. and lived there for 47 years. Arpad was an inspector for Western Electric Co. until retiring in 1984. He was also an honorary member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lockport, Ill. Arpad loved being with his children and grandchildren. Whether it was driving the kids to their games, babysitting, or fixing "Thursday pancakes", Arpad will always be remembered for being a true family man. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, gardening and enjoying the summer home on the Fox River. His hobbies included coin collecting, always looking for a new home repair or construction project, and looking after his faithful companion, Sue II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Rib Mountain, his daughter, Donna (Jeff) Blankenship of Wausau, two sons, Steven (Terry) Biro of Palatine, Ill, John (Cindy) Biro of Frankfort, Ill., 8 grandchildren, Chris, Mike, Scott, Eric, Ashley, Shannon, Shawn, and Austin, 1 great granddaughter, Ashlynn. He was preceded in death by one sister.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, January 14, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Gerald Pehler will officiate.
