Arline Salo

Arline "Tom" Salo, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Cady Home, Wausau, surrounded by her family.

Arline was born February 2, 1933, triplet daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Steffen) Traska, in the town of Texas. On August 24, 1968, Arline married Arvo Salo at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Arline was employed at Rhyner's Ice Cream Shoppe for four years, then Marathon Battery for 19 years, and finally Public Service for five years.

The joy of Arline's life was going to polka dances. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau.

Arline is survived by two sisters, triplet sister, Caroline (Stuart) Kuehl, and Adeline (Norman) Prahl; two brothers, Dale (Helen) Traska and David (Marion) Traska, all of Wausau; two sisters-in-law, Taimi (Robert) Briski, Greenwood, and Arlene Beck, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.

Long with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvo, on December 3, 2010; four sisters, Lorinda Boelter, Katherine Zahrt, Florence Wirsbinski, and Myrtle Beck; and five brothers, Louis, Arnold, Raymond, Elroy, and Clarence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, October 15th, at Christ Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend David Wetmore will officiate. Family and friends may call beginning at 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Sunday, October 14th, at Helke Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.; and again at 10 a.m., Monday, until the time of service, at church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park – Garden of Eternal Rest.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cady Home, Wausau, for the loving care given to Arline over the past year and 11 months; and to Aspirus Hospice for the past seven weeks. Your loving care was greatly appreciated.
