Alvera Schultz, 85, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center .



Alvera Bertha Weinke was born January 2, 1923 in Marathon City to the late Frank and Emma (Bartelt) Weinke. She married Elvin Schultz on March 7, 1942 in Wausau and the two spent thirty-seven years together prior to his passing in 1979. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening and fishing. Later, Alvera enjoyed playing cards, working on puzzles, and crafts. Her family will always cherish the individual handmade quilts that she made for each one of them.



Alvera is survived by her children, Judy (Roger) Duranceau of Merrill and Wayne (Charmaine) Schultz of Birnamwood; six grandchildren, Debra Wickersham, Ron Duranceau, Bob Duranceau, Randy Duranceau, Rick Duranceau and Shawn Buchanan; fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dora (Walter) Mueller of Wausau, Deloris (Lyle) Bauman of Merrill, Ruth (Clarence) Schmirler of Mosinee; and Berdine (Roy) Marquardt of Rothschild, Eunice Feltis of Baldwin Park, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Alvera is preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel (Elmer) Knorr, Margaret (Walter) Schulz, Mildred ( Lawrence ) Andreas, and Marie (Roland) Neitzel; brothers, Edwin, Martin, Victor and Bill Weinke; and her brother-in-law, LeRoy Feltis.



Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau . Rev. Robin Wilde will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Helke Funeral Home and last until the time of services at 7:00 PM . A private entombment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Mausoleum at a later time.
