Aaron Lee Jones, 37, Wausau, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.


Aaron was born August 20, 1971 in Wausau to William and Leslie (Stubbe) Jones. He attended Mosinee High School, graduating in 1990. He was most recently employed by Living Color Landscaping as a mechanic.


Aaron always stood up for the underdog and will be remembered as a good friend to all. He was always most at home outdoors. He enjoyed camping and fishing year round, firmly believing in catch and release. A free spirit by nature, Aaron was very artistic and had a very good eye for photography. His favorite pastime has always been racing. Aaron was a big fan of the Earnhardt's and loved nothing more than to cheer on cars 3, 8, or 88. His love of racing was not only as a spectator and fan, he also participated in ice racing on Lake Dubay getting 1st place after only a couple of years.


Aaron is survived by his significant other, Mary Borchardt; parents, William and Leslie Ann Jones; brother, Jonathon Jones; sister, Hilary (Joseph) Lambert; daughters, Hayley Ann and Savannah Nicole; maternal grandmother, Helen Sr. Stubbe; aunts, Helen Jr. (Tom) Rhyner and Dolores Alexander; uncles, Clayton (Rita) Stubbe Jr., Robert (Louise) Jones, and Lewis (Jewel) Jones; and many extended family and friends who will miss as dearly. Aaron is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Clayton Stubbe Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Colby and Lurla Jones.


Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Dr. Robin Wilde will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and last until the time of service at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Helke Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
